Finn likes working at his grandfather’s feed and general store. It’s familiar. Comfortable. People aren’t as intimidating when he’s behind the counter. Outside of work . . . well, “shy” would be putting it nicely. He’s a mess, and at this rate he’s going to be a single mess forever. Who’d want a guy who can barely get a word out? Definitely not the handsome older man who’s started showing an interest. No, Xavier is out of Finn’s league.
Xavier DeCain came to Split Rock to help out a friend—fixing problems is what he does, though usually there’s more Hollywood glamor involved. He didn’t plan to keep coming back to the sleepy town. And he definitely wasn’t planning on Finn, whose pretty blushes are irresistible. But Xavier has specific tastes—not to mention an intense desire to be in charge. He isn’t sure innocent young Finn will be able to handle it.
Their mutual attraction is too strong to ignore, but for a relationship to work, they’ll both need to fight their demons. Finn will have to trust Xavier to be careful with his wounded heart, and Xavier will have to reexamine the things he finds most important.
I have been a big fan of Rory Maxwell’s Split Rock Ranch series. When I saw that ridiculously sweet Finn was getting his own book, I was so excited! I love age-gap romance, so this was an easy rec for me.

Seth
I always thought my world would begin and end with Jayce Walker. When a sleep study offers us life-changing money, we jump at the opportunity. There’s only one problem: I don’t have insomnia. Bluffing my way in is easy, but getting there and losing everything that’s ever mattered is a nightmare I can’t escape.
Jayce is gone. My only ally is a voice in my head named Clay, who insists the body walking around — the one I’ve known and loved my entire life — belongs to a man named Kade, and he only wants one thing.
To kill me.
Kade
Most people don’t get second chances, but I did. Brought back to life by a power-hungry company, I have one thought: I want revenge.
But… the man I’m chasing isn’t Clay. His name is Seth, and all my years of being a heartless, psychopathic killer never prepared me for the way his wide eyes make me feel. I don’t know how to deal with the emotions still knocking around in my chest that used to belong to someone named Jayce.
They make me question things. They make me wonder if my agenda has changed…
I want to make Seth mine.
The blurb of this book seems completely unhinged, but I am totally here for it! We have psychopathic killers, soulmates, and what sounds like possession. I am so ridiculously intrigued by this book.
Beyond does look to be the debut book of author Lee McCormick, so I am excited to read their work!
Dalton Beauregard has a plan, and it involves acing all his exams, making the Dean’s List every year he’s at Lassiter College, and going to med school and becoming a doctor.
Marty O’Brien has a plan too. His is to improve his life by emulating those around him. He’s going to need a study plan, a tutor, and… a boyfriend?
Dalton can’t believe he’s even considering this. It’s utterly ridiculous. Marty is an idiot, and there is no way he’s going to help him learn how to be gay.
Or is there?
Yes! This is the next book in the Alpha Tau series by the dynamic duo of Lisa Henry & Sarah Honey.
I absolutely devoured the first book in the series, The Amazing Alpha Tau Boyfriend Project (you can find my review here). I am very hopeful that this second book will be just as sweetly funny and romantic.
To protect their pack, they must risk everything.
Adam and Parker are finally safe.
As safe as they can be in a world where the zombie-like infected still roam the night. With other survivors, they’ve built a community—a pack.
Until that peace is shattered.
How far will Adam and Parker go for family—and each other?
Wow! Seriously, I almost have no words. Nearly a decade after the first book in the Kick at the Darkness series was released, we have the third book in the series!
I absolutely loved the first book, Kick at the Darkness. Kiera Andrews really broke the mold with this series featuring both a zombie apocalypse and werewolves. She manages to write about both of these things in a way that is believable and heartfelt.
I cannot wait to get my hands on this book!
Don’t cry over spilled coffee… especially not when it’s spilled by your true mate.
I’m a prince, first and foremost. I’ve known that since I was a boy. It’s the way of things. Not once have I questioned it. Why should I? I like my family, my position, and my country.
When my father says it’s time for me to mate and that my mating is going to financially save us, I agree. Anything for my family. That is until I visit my favorite coffee shop and my world shifts.
I scent him immediately, my fated mate. My wolf recognizes him as ours and begs me to claim him. Everything is as it should be—except nothing is. I’m promised to another, and my mate? Oh yeah, he’s human. Did I mention he hates me?
The Alpha Wolf Prince’s Arranged Marriage is classic Lorelei M Hart and Colbie Dunbar. We get princes, fated mates, and a baby. It seems like a fun and light-hearted read.
Amos:
University is a strange experience, but I’ve managed to make it as weird as possible by accidentally befriending a flock of crows that like to hang out on campus. Anyone would have started feeding them if they knew how vengeful crows can be. I was worried about getting pooped on! I wasn’t going to find myself an enemy of the birds, but now I’m more like a friend. Ok, it might be more serious than that, but they’re the only creatures I can talk to about the professor on campus that I might have a teeny, tiny, itty bitty crush on, and they’re only a little judgmental about it.
(Never) Feed the Crows is so cool. This is one of those few times where I have read a book before recommending it, and I am so glad because I might not have shared it otherwise. And you are really not going to want to miss this book!
Amos is one of the sweetest main characters I’ve read in a while. He is such a genuinely good person that it’s fun to read about him finding happiness. Also, the premise is just so interesting. I cannot wait for more from Jennifer Cody.

Moms are good at one thing: the guilt trip. It’s the only reason I’m at the funeral of a man I’ve never had anything to do with.
I’ll show up, make her happy, and get out.
At least that’s what I think until I learn daddy dearest has left me a crap load of money and the obligation to learn about the family business. All from his eldest son who looks nothing like the rest of us.
Darcy is the only Ritcherson who doesn’t treat me like the bastard son that I am. He helps me learn, pushes me to be better, and as we work together, we grow closer. For a gazillionaire with a media empire at his fingertips, he’s surprisingly humble.
And sweet.
And saying things he shouldn’t be saying.
The thing is, Mom swears she was never a mistress. Swears she was the only one Dad was seeing when she fell pregnant with me. But with Darcy only a few weeks older, there’s no way that can be the case.
Unless …
Unless the things he whispers when he thinks I’m not listening mean something. The guilt in his eyes when he looks at me would make sense.
If Darcy isn’t my father’s biological child, he’s not the Ritcherson heir.
I am.
And everything Darcy holds dear should be mine.
Anything by the writing team of Eden Finley and Saxon James will get a read from me. They have just earned it.
This particular book isn’t necessarily what I would gravitate towards, but that doesn’t matter. If Eden Finley and Saxon James write it together, I read it! And you should too!
“You have something I want. Something I’ll happily buy…or rent.”
As if my life doesn’t suck enough already, my insufferable new roommate, Miller MacAvoy, seems determined to make things weird. He watches me all the time, grinning at me like a beautiful idiot, eyes boring holes into me every time I turn my back on him.
It’s the last thing I need. Things haven’t been going well. College isn’t working out at all like I’d hoped. I’m drowning in debt, waiting tables every shift I can get, and falling behind on my studies.
Something’s got to give.
I can’t go on like this much longer.
Miller, being the out-of-touch rich boy he is, keeps offering to throw cash my way. Obviously, I’d rather die than accept charity from him.
Still, he watches and waits. Insisting again and again that I have something he wants to buy. It’s insane. I have nothing of value to sell. Absolutely nothing. My phone screen is cracked and my truck could easily be mistaken for scrap.
Wait.
No!
Surely not.
Jesse H Reign! After reading her The Situationship Series, I trust her implicitly. I highly doubt I will not greatly enjoy reading this book.
Wade Westmore is used to being in the spotlight. So when he’s passed over for the lead in the spring musical, it comes as a major blow—especially when the role goes to his ex-boyfriend, Reese, who dumped him for being too self-involved.
Shy sophomore Elijah Brady is used to being overlooked. Forget not knowing his name—most of his classmates don’t even know he exists. So when he joins the stage crew for the musical, he seems destined to blend into the scenery.
When the two have a disastrous backstage run-in, Elijah proposes an arrangement that could solve both boys’ problems: If Wade teaches Elijah how to be popular, Wade can prove that he cares about more than just himself. Seeing a chance to win Reese back, Wade dives headfirst into helping Elijah become the new and improved “Brady.”
Soon their plan puts Brady center stage—and he’s a surprising smash hit. So why is Wade suddenly less worried about winning over his ex and more worried about losing Elijah?
My Fair Brady is slightly different than my typical recs in that it is solidly a young adult book, but I love different takes on She’s All That so much that I have to read this book. It seems adorable.
After being forced to take suppressants for a year by his coach, Beau’s body is a mess. He has a debilitatingly painful heat every two weeks, and there’s no medication available to help him.
Being traded from the team that did that to him is a slap to the face. Being traded to their direct competitors, the Miami Manatees, is just the cherry on top of the sh*t sundae that has become his life.
Now Beau doesn’t just have to get through heats only an Alpha would be able to help with, but has to tolerate Emilio, the guy who doesn’t only hate him, but his Omega scent.
Which doesn’t really make sense, what with how protective and possessive the Alpha gets when Beau goes into heat…and how he keeps volunteering to help him through them.
Beau might take him up on that offer, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to fall in love.
Broken Ice is written by Marina Vivancos. Need I say more? She is probably my favorite author at the moment, so ending January with one of her books sounds like a great plan to me.
Beau sounds like an oblivious himbo, and those are my absolute favorite. This book sounds like sugary, spicy fun, and I can’t wait to jump in!
I read M/M romance books exclusively, and I help other readers find their next great M/M romance read.
