There is nothing quite like bingeing a great M/M romance book series. It’s hard to beat the feeling of consuming book after book of amazing content with characters and situations that you can’t get enough of.
A great book series will suck you in and not let go of you until you finish the very last page of the very last book.
The amount of times that I have canceled plans with someone because I could not stop myself from reading the next book in the series is a number higher than I would like to admit.
Finding the perfect M/M romance book series isn’t always easy to do. I can attest to this! I am someone who gets burned out very easily. If a series lags or has a flop of a book in the middle, I often never finish it and rush on to the next great read.
I thought it would be helpful if I put together the ultimate list of the best M/M romance book series so that others can binge to their heart’s content as well.
If a book series made it onto this list, rest assured that it is the really good stuff.

I gave myself some rules!
1. The series must have at least three books to count as a series and not just a duology.
2. I have to have read every book in the series.
3. If I DNF’ed a single book in the series, the series can’t be on the list.
These rules helped me narrow the list down to the really, really good stuff.
Just a word of advice, I wouldn’t recommend jumping into any of these M/M romance book series if you plan on accomplishing anything worthwhile this week. You will be far too busy reading. Enjoy!
Seven brothers. All psychopaths. Raised by a brilliant billionaire to right the wrongs of a justice system that keeps failing.
From Book 1: Adam Mulvaney lives a double life. By day, he’s the spoiled youngest son of an eccentric billionaire. By night, he’s an unrepentant killer, one of seven psychopaths raised to right the wrongs of a justice system that keeps failing.
Noah Holt has spent years dreaming of vengeance for the death of his father, but when faced with his killer, he learns a daunting truth he can’t escape. His father was a monster.
Unable to ignore his own surfacing memories, Noah embarks on a quest to find the truth about his childhood with the help of an unlikely ally: the very person who murdered his father. Since their confrontation, Adam is obsessed with Noah, and he wants to help him uncover the answers he seeks, however dark they may be.
The two share a mutual attraction, but, deep down, Noah knows Adam’s not like other boys. Adam can’t love. He wasn’t born that way. But he refuses to let Noah go, and Noah’s not sure he wants him to.
Can Adam prove to Noah that passion, power, and protection are just as good as love?
If you’ve hung out on my blog long enough, you will be completely unsurprised by my first pick. I love the Necessary Evils Series by Onley James. Each individual book focuses on a different brother falling in love while the series keeps following the larger arch that the entire family is on. This is my favorite format of book series.
I think Necessary Evils really works because each brother has such a unique voice. They are each psychopaths, but their attitudes and personalities are all wildly different. There were some really fun twists and turns within the series that kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to drop.
It’s hard for me to play favorites in this series, but Unhinged, the one that started it all, is amazing. Also, I really love Atticus, so his book, Moonstruck, is also a favorite of mine. Lastly, Asa and Zane in Headcase check just about every box that I have. I think it would be worth reading the first four books in the series just to get to the chase scene in book four. 🔥
Let me know in the comments if you love this series as much as I do!
From Book 1: Welcome to Sutton Station: One of the world’s largest working farms in the middle of Australia – where if the animals and heat don’t kill you first, your heart just might.
Charlie Sutton runs Sutton Station the only way he knows how; the way his father did before him. Determined to keep his head down and his heart in check, Charlie swears the red dirt that surrounds him – isolates him – runs through his veins.
American agronomy student Travis Craig arrives at Sutton Station to see how farmers make a living from one of the harshest environments on earth. But it’s not the barren, brutal and totally beautiful landscapes that capture him so completely.
It’s the man with the red dirt heart.
This is the really good stuff. Charlie and Travis, and all of the amazing side characters at Sutton Station, will have a forever home in your heart by the time you finish reading the Red Dirt Heart series by N.R. Walker. These characters are real and gritty and flawed and loving and everything you could ever want from a found family.
The slow burn ache here is beautiful. These two men, who are absolutely perfect for each other, have a lot to overcome before they can get their happily ever after.
For the rest of my life, when I read a cowboy M/M romance book, it will always be compared with this series. It is just the gold standard.
You will feel like you are in Australia with Charlie and Travis. Looking up from reading this series, I was often shocked to find myself on my couch and not at Sutton Station. After reading this series, I started looking at plane tickets to Australia. N.R. Walker has me nearly convinced to move there.
Five star reads down the line!
From Book 1: Maddox
The reason I rarely go home is three simple words: I’m a liar.
When the pressure to marry my childhood sweetheart became too much, I told her I was gay and then fled to New York like my ass was on fire.
Now, five years later and after a drunken encounter, I find myself invited to her wedding. And I have to bring my boyfriend—the boyfriend who doesn’t exist because I’m straight.
At least, I think I am. Meeting the guy I’m bribing to be my boyfriend for the weekend makes me question everything about myself.
Damon
When my sister asks me to pretend to be some straight guy’s boyfriend, my automatic response is to say no. It’s because of guys like him people don’t believe me when I tell them I’m gay.
But Maddox has something I need.
After an injury that cost me my baseball career, I’m trying to leave my playing days behind and focus on being the best sports agent I can be. Forty-eight hours with my sister’s best friend in exchange for a meeting with a possible client. I can do this.
I just wish he wasn’t so hot. Or that he didn’t kiss like he means it.
Wait … why is the straight guy kissing me?
If you love the fake boyfriend trope, than this series is perfect for you! It is chock-full of sporty fake boyfriends. From baseball to football to hockey, each sport has its own fake couple.
The guys are often closeted or even think they are straight at the beginning of the books. Somehow, Eden Finley has a way of making these scenarios seem somewhat realistic. These books have a depth that you wouldn’t assume to be there.
I really enjoyed how many familiar faces we get to see throughout each book in the series. Each couple is connected to the others in multiple ways, so we can keep tabs on how previous couples are doing as the series progresses.
Also, Eden Finley has two newer books out (Football Royalty and Can’t Say Goodbye) that references this group a lot. It is so sweet to hear about these guys as much older and more settled adults. It made me appreciate this original series even more. (Can’t Say Goodbye is so freaking good. You should check it out as well!)
From Book 1: Twenty years ago, monsters rose on earth and began a new age of civilization.
One where humans live in military-controlled, cramped and dirty cities along the coasts, and the majority of the United States is known as the Wastes. A lawless, desolate and dangerous place, teeming with monsters that have claimed the land for their own.
Including Wyn the Soul Eater.
He appears every three years, making his way across the country and slaughtering humans randomly, sucking them dry until they’re nothing but husks.
I’ve only been in the military for six months, but now I’m part of a unit tasked with trying to stop and capture him. And when I’m the only soldier out of hundreds that the Soul Eater leaves alive, I realise that… something about me has intrigued him.
But what is it? What could a twenty-three year old guy from the south, with no one and nothing in the world, have possibly done to capture the attention of a death monster with horns, blackened fingertips and a face hidden in the dark depths of his hood?
M/M monster romance is having a moment, and I am here for it! Lily Mayne is absolutely crushing this genre.
Monstrous is paranormal romance on steroids. The world building in this series is nothing short of epic. The amount of creatures and characters and lore in each book is perfection. I never felt completely overwhelmed or lost.
The entire series works so, so well. As I uploaded pictures of the covers, I thought about the couples. Each couple is comprised of at least one person that I would run into a burning building for. In many cases, it is both individuals in the pairing.
Danny from Soul Eater, Aury from The Rycke, Rig from Gloam, and Moth from Moth are some of my absolute favorites. You’ve got to check this out just for them!
From Book 1: Drafted to play for the Jacksonville Sea Storm, an NHL affiliate, twenty-year-old Lane Courtnall’s future looks bright, apart from the awkwardness he feels as a gay man playing on a minor league hockey team. He’s put his foot in his mouth a few times and alienated his teammates. Then, during a rivalry game, Lane throws off his gloves against Jared Shore, enforcer for the Savannah Renegades. It’s a strange way to begin a relationship.
Jared’s been playing minor league hockey for most of his career. He’s bisexual and doesn’t care if anyone knows. But he’s determined to avoid another love affair after the last one left him devastated. Out of nowhere a one-nighter with rookie Lane Courtnall gives him second thoughts. Lane reminds Jared why he loves the game and why love might be worth the risk. In turn, Jared hopes to show Lane how to be comfortable with himself on and off the ice. But they’re at different points in their careers, and both men will have to decide what they value most.
Scoring Chances is a hockey M/M romance book series that has flown somewhat under the radar. I think it deserves a lot more attention than it has gotten! I haven’t been the biggest fan of Avon Gale’s other work, but, for whatever reason, not a single book in this series is a miss for me. In fact, Power Play made it on to my Best M/M Romance Books of All Time list.
The books are all connected in that the guys play in the same hockey league and occasionally on the same team. I liked that we got a chance to see previous couples pop up in the books when the teams played or interacted.
While compiling my list, this is the series that stood out to me as one that I want to go back and reread really badly. Highly recommended!
From Book 1: Simon just wants to run his antique shop in peace.
But then he finds a small mysterious box that’s (probably) haunted, and his shop is broken into by the hottest man he’s ever seen who then steals said creepy box.
Now demons are after him and his only hope is to trust the tall, muscled, combat-boot-wearing thief who claims to be the son of a fallen angel.
Galen is charged with protecting humanity from dark forces. Cursed with Wrath, he’s hot-tempered and spends his days fighting demons and trying not to kill his six brothers when they irritate him.
His number one rule? Never fall in love. But then he meets Simon, a clumsy human who asks way too many questions and is—unfortunately—a total demon-magnet, and he starts breaking his own rules.
What’s inside the box, and why do the demons want it so badly? One thing is for sure… Simon can kiss his peaceful, ordinary life goodbye.
Jaclyn Osborn has been on my radar ever since I read her book, Axios. Which is easily one of the best M/M romance books ever written.
When I found out that she was writing a new series about the seven deadly sins manifested as fallen angel brothers, I was ecstatic.
This type of series is everything to me. We have seven brothers living together in a mansion and they all happen to be gay or bi. Each book in the series follows a different brother falling in love while moving along the bigger series arch. There are a lot of parallels between this series and the Necessary Evils series by Onley James.
Daman and Raiden, while being nearly complete opposites as individuals, are my two favorite brothers and their books were stand outs for me. The other books were still great. This series just wrapped up, so now is the perfect time to binge them all the way through.
From Book 1: Kingston Wells
I like to party. To have a good time.
Life’s too short not to. I learned that when I lost my grandpa.
He told me to have fun while I can, and I intend to.
Although sometimes when you’re having a good time, you forget others may see you as irresponsible. And sometimes you screw up.
I’ve definitely screwed up a time or two.
But I’m still determined to have fun. And along the way, I’m hoping I’ll convince my best friend, Camden, to do the same.
He’s too serious. Too focused. Too busy taking care of everyone to just relax.
And that’s where I come in.
Camden Prescott
I may only be eighteen and a senior, but I have too much on my plate to be a kid.
Too many people depend on me, but I can handle it.
I have to handle it. My mom needs my help. My little sister needs me. And Kingston, my best friend in the world—yeah, he definitely needs me.
Because while he’s busy having fun, I’m busy cleaning up his messes along with everyone else’s.
It’s not all bad though. He’s there to make sure I occasionally have fun, and I’m there for him when he needs to take life seriously.
Because that’s what I am . . .
The Keeper.
Kensley Panthers by Nicole Dykes is peak M/M sports romance. The series follows a small-town football team as the players work to figure out what the rest of their lives will look like after high school.
There are a lot of tropes at play here in addition to the sports theme. From Keeper we get friends to lovers. Guarded is the epitome of enemies to lovers. Defender does grumpy/sunshine so well. And in Rivaled we get coworkers with a slight age gap.
While the Kensley Panthers series isn’t complete, based on the four books that have been released and my extensive reading of Nicole Dykes’ books, I feel confident in recommending this series to you!
From Book 1: Generation versus generation, traditional versus contemporary, these men are about to learn a lesson in architecture and love. Can they prove that the old and new can be the perfect design?
A successful New York architect, Thomas Elkin almost has it all. Coming out as gay and ending his marriage before his fortieth birthday, he needed to start living his life. Now, four years later, with his relationship with his son back on track, and after a few short-lived romances, this esteemed traditional draftsman thinks he knows everything about architecture, about life.
Cooper Jones, twenty-two years old, is about to take the architect world by storm. Talented, professional, driven and completely infuriating, Cooper is the definition of Generation Y. Starting an internship working with Thomas, Cooper is about to knock Tom’s world off its axis.
Tom can teach Cooper about the architecture industry, but Cooper is about to teach Tom what it means to live.
When I think of M/M age-gap romance, I can only think of the Thomas Elkin series by N.R. Walker.
The series follows the same couple, Tom and Cooper, throughout all three books. Tom is an architect. One of the best. And Cooper is an architect intern looking to make a name for himself in the world of architecture. When the two meet, sparks immediately fly. The only problem is that Cooper is his son’s friend and almost twenty years younger than Tom.
In the most beautiful, angst-filled, slow-burn fashion that anyone possibly could, Cooper and Tom fall in love. Because the series follows the same characters over the course of three books, we really get a deep dive into who these men are. I love that nothing in the series is superficial or sped over.
If age-gap is your thing, you need to run to check this one out!
From Book 1: New York Admirals captain Scott Hunter takes his pregame rituals very seriously. In this case, it’s not just a lucky smoothie he’s craving—it’s the man who made it.
Pro hockey star Scott Hunter knows a good thing when he sees it. So, when a smoothie made by juice bar barista Kip Grady precedes Scott breaking his on-ice slump, he’s desperate to recreate the magic…and to get to know the sexy, funny guy behind the counter.
Kip knew there was more to Scott’s frequent visits than blended fruit, but he never let himself imagine being invited back to Scott’s penthouse. Or kissed with reckless abandon, never mind touched everywhere all at once. When it happens it’s red-hot, incredible and frequent, but also only on Scott’s terms and always behind his closed apartment doors.
Scott needs Kip in his life, but with playoff season approaching, the spotlight on him is suddenly brighter than ever. He can’t afford to do anything that might derail his career…like introducing the world to his boyfriend. Kip is ready to go all-in with Scott—but how much longer will he have to remain a secret?
This series can’t be a surprise. It’s been well documented that I love M/M hockey romance books and I love M/M enemies to lovers books. This series takes all of my favorite things and wraps them up in a six-book series.
Obviously Heated Rivalry and The Long Game are the stand outs from the series. However, you definitely shouldn’t sleep on the book Role Model either!
From Book 1: His broken bones could finally mend their broken bond…
Bull riding was the only thing that calmed the thrill-seeking, self-destructive beast inside of Calvin Craig. It allowed him to escape a small-minded town and the pain of his troubled youth, fleeing to bright lights and big city fame without looking back.
One trip on the horns of the wrong bull changed everything.
Cal is forced to come crawling back home for the first time in ten years, his body broken and riding days behind him. But not everyone is happy for the return of their local celebrity.
Eli Jackson was once the tall, dark, and sinful preacher’s son who had Cal wrapped around his little finger. Now the steely-eyed sheriff of Sweetwater, Eli is hell bent on running him right back out of town. He’s never forgiven Cal for the spectacular implosion of their relationship. Even though the lingering tension soon has them burning up the sheets, he refuses to be tamed.
Cal is surprised to find himself rising to a new challenge: breaking the bull that is Eli Jackson.
He might have run out of luck, but he’s not out of miracles… yet.
Down Home is a M/M cowboy romance series that focuses on bull riding and the shambles it can make of a person’s life and body. As someone that knows less than nothing about bull riding, I loved learning about the sport as I read.
Nearly every book in the series is a second-chance romance with the love interests having been together previously. It makes the series seem so authentic. Like everyone in the small town already knows each other and has a past. Often a past that they can’t escape no matter how hard they try or would like to.
These are angst filled books, but I never felt like they were overly dramatic or insincere. Read this series for heart-pounding action and hard-fought second chances.
From Book 1: A planet at war. Two alphas forced into a political marriage. Attraction that defies all reason and logic… Or does it?
The Kingdom of Pelugia and the Republic of Kadar have been at war for decades. Peace isn’t popular, but the planet can’t survive without it.
Forced to marry an enemy prince for the sake of peace, Senator Royce Cleghorn doesn’t like his husband, his alpha scent, or his damned pretty blue eyes. More than anything, Royce hates what Haydn makes him become: a primitive alpha cliché who’ll do anything to mark his territory, even if that territory is his alpha husband. Royce likes omegas; he isn’t into alphas, no matter how pretty their eyes are. It’s just a weird territorial instinct. It has to be.
Prince Haydn has always tried to be the perfect alpha his father wants him to be. He’s the heir to the throne. He’s a war general. He isn’t supposed to bare his throat to an enemy alpha—and it isn’t supposed to feel so good. Everyone knows a marriage between two alphas is a recipe for disaster. He isn’t supposed to crave his husband—their marriage is just a political arrangement, nothing more.
But when disaster strikes and loyalties are tested, which bond will be the strongest: their marriage, or their allegiances?
The Wrong Alpha is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but it definitely should be.
The series is M/M paranormal, omegaverse romance. Don’t that intimidate or deter you from jumping in. The writing here is superb.
